Microsoft’s Latest Mail App Strips Out Everything You Hate in Email

The staff behind Microsoft Outlook has a brand new email app that makes it so much simpler to disregard your inbox. Send, launched on iOS Wednesday, is an email app that takes an immediate messaging-style strategy to your inbox by stripping out virtually each facet.

Unlike Outlook, Send just isn’t meant to be a full-featured email app: you cannot use it to view emails you’ve already acquired or search your inbox. The tremendous easy app solely exhibits threads which were began from inside the app. The concept, Microsoft says, is to strip out the pointless (and annoying) elements of email — topic strings and signatures, for instance — to make these fast day-to-day temporary messages you change with coworkers and colleagues quicker and simpler.

“With Send, there are no signatures, subject lines or salutations required,” Microsoft’s Outlook group explains. “Our design principle for the app was to make conversations fast and fluid while keeping the people who are important to you at its core.”

If that sounds acquainted, it is virtually similar to an outline of a brand new chat-style email app from the Outlook workforce, nicknamed “Flow,” that leaked on-line again in May.

Though the app sounds rather more like a chat app than an email shopper for enterprise customers, Send solely helps Office 365 enterprise and schooling accounts for now so messages despatched within the app are synced to Outlook and Microsoft say the app will work with corporations’ present IT insurance policies.

As with a number of the different apps we have seen from Microsoft’s Garage, Send is debuting on iOS first, although Microsoft says Android and Windows Phone variations are within the works. Microsoft says it is going to open up the app to extra kinds of email accounts “in the coming months.”
