San Francisco police were investigating a shooting in the Mission District on Thursday evening that left a man with life-threatening injuries.

The incident occurred around 7 p.m. near Cesar Chavez and Harrison streets, police said.

Two men running eastbound on Cesar Chavez were firing guns, and a 35-year-old man was struck in the chest, police said. He was taken to nearby San Francisco General Hospital.

Police have not made any arrests.
