Weather Wreaks Havoc Across Kern County
Wild climate wreaked havoc across Kern County over the weekend inflicting flooding, mudslides, and street closures. According to Kern County Fire Engineer, Leland Davis, a number of individuals have been trapped on the roofs of their houses within the Twin Oaks space, in the direction of Caliente Rd. resulting from flooding.
Fire crews have been despatched over by helicopters to rescue these in want. The American Red Cross of Kern County has now opened a shelter for these impacted by the storm at Jacobsen Middle School, 711 Anita Dr., Tehachapi, CA 93561.
Rain is predicted to proceed for the start of the week. The National Weather Service has issued a Flash Flood Warning till 1 a.m. on Monday for the desert and mountain areas and a Flash Flood Watch till 11 p.m. on Monday for the Northeastern aspect of Kern County.
