Here is the Food and Fitness Diary of Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Model Nina Agdal

January 19, 2016 By Ellen Smith

If you’re ever struggling to feel inspired at the gym, here’s a little tip that I picked up last week: Go and work out with the beautiful people. Trust me, nothing will motivate you to move like a six-foot professional bikini-wearer breezing through the cardio circuit at twice your speed.

I learned this valuable life lesson recently at a media event for activewear label Vimmia that involved a 30-minute run-through of the famous Tone House program in New York. Leading the charge—and barely working up a sweat—was 23-year-old Sports Illustrated superhuman supermodel Nina Agdal. I managed to grab Agdal between burpees to find out what her average day of eating and exercise really looks like. Here’s what she came back with.

I start an average day by:
Coffee—black coffee.

For breakfast I had:
I had half a bagel, I shouldn’t say that but my sweet photographer over there and his friend bought me a bagel so I had to eat it. But normally a Quest bar.

For lunch I had:
Sweetgreen.

For dinner I had:
Just a Greek yogurt with honey. I had such a big dinner the night before, so I cut down on that.

Today I snacked on:
Greek yogurt with honey. I eat like four of those a day–I like Fage. I don’t know how to say it! It’s delicious.

The one thing I would never eat is:
I don’t know, I would eat a lot of things. Worms; I wouldn’t be like, Bare Grillz and go out in nature and eat worms. I would be like, I’m just going to starve, thanks.

My favorite workout is:
Oh my God, I can’t pick one! I love a mix between Tone House, SLT, Y7, my personal trainer, Andy Speer. I love all of it.

My guilty pleasure food is:
A burger and a beer, with cheese.

The one thing that always gets me motivated to work out is:
Looking good while doing it. If you feel great while you’re in the gym, and you’re looking at yourself in the mirror and you think you look great. That’s why I love [activewear brand] Vimmia, because it actually tightens you up, and it makes you think, “I can do this.”

The next big health and fitness trend will be:
There’s always one of those isn’t there? I think rowing. Rowing is up and coming—I’ve heard a lot of people are starting to do it, and it’s easy on your knees and it’s easy on your joints. I think that’s going to be the new thing after people do all those crazy workouts.

My favorite healthy restaurant is:
Sweetgreen. I don’t know that it’s a restaurant, but you can sit down and eat there, right?

On Instagram I’m obsessed with following:
There’s this fitness and fashion account Bags and Bunnies, I don’t know her name, but I like her.

My biggest health tip for travelers is:
Don’t consider it a vacation from the gym; you should always get your sweat in for an hour.

The health app I couldn’t live without is:
I like to just google calories and also use My Fitness Pal.

The top three songs on my workout playlist right now are:
This is a tough one. Definitely a lot of house music. I love this song, I think it’s called “Let It Go” by Chainsmokers; I think it’s a remix. And the “Pumping Blood” Chainsmokers remix; I love that. I’m a remix kind of girl.

The best part of my job is:
Meeting creative new people every single day and getting to do cool stuff.

My favorite activewear brands are:
Vimmia.

My winter health tip is:
Get somewhere where it’s not as dark as New York, and get some sun!.
